| The mission of the gRyukyu Collection KANAh is to be a vanguard gallery of introducing uniquely Okinawa artifacts to the people of the world. It is our belief that the artists creating in Okinawa are greatly inspired by the beautiful natural resources of the islands. In Eastern Asia, Okinawa has a very distinct background and strong historical and cultural ties with China that evolved during the Ryukyu Dynasty (The Great Trade Era, 1470 to 1620). After WW II, Okinawa developed a close relationship with the United States. Combining these great relationships has generated the highly admired mixed culture and a synergistic effect for developing the creative talents of artists and craft workers. gRyukyu Collection KANAh specializes in introducing the work of artists that focus on the nature and beauty of the islands. These reflections are the heart of Okinawa. |
